Leena Conquest is an American jazz musician and composer born around 1965 in Dallas Texas. She graduated from Stanford University and attended the Tisch School of the Arts and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Conquest began a recording career in the late 1980s while living in Vienna. From 1989 to 1993, she collaborated with the Reform Art Unit on the album Open Window Suite and subsequent tours. She also worked with the Vienna Art Orchestra and the Zagreb Radio Orchestra and recorded the track “Boundaries” with Hip Hop Finger. After returning to the United States Conquest moved to New York City where she collaborated with William Parker on projects including I Plan to Stay a Believer, Universal Tonality, Voices Fall from the Sky, Raining on the Moon, and Alphaville Suite. As a solo artist she released the albums Come Fly Away (1999) and Cornmeal Dance. She also recorded the album Dave Burrell Plays His Songs featuring Leena Conquest (2008). Conquest collaborated with musicians including Doc Cheatham, Mal Waldron, Roy Ayers, Fred Ho, Dennis González, and Steve Swell.
