Chinaza Ada Igbo is a multi-dimensional singer, songwriter, performer, producer and cultural activist of Igbo decent. She is a native of Ugwueke in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State. Although she is predominantly known in the highlife genre where she has continued in making her mark with songs like Ezenwanyi Mmiri and N’iru N’iru which became social trends in Nigeria and also helped in reawakening the people to come more culture conscious., Chinaza Ada Igbo also blends perfectly with Afrobeat, Afropop, Hip-hop and other genres which crown her as a versatile artist who cannot be boxed under a genre.
She is one of the leading female voices in the musical space of Eastern Nigeria and her music can be classified as Conscious-Afro-centric-Gospel which aims at educating listeners about African cultural values and the need to reawaken indigenous spirituality in a world where black people have been taught to disregard their heritage.
She started music at an early stage as she was recording and producing in the creative city of Aba, Abia State. Over the years, she has been able to acquire lots of experiences and knowledge which undoubtedly helped in her growth as an artist with purpose.
Currently, with her second studio album “Omenala Bu Enyi” which contains her milestone records, she has continued to build upon the solid foundation of her first studio album “Ozioma-The Message” released in 2018. Chinaza Ada Igbo proved what has never been in doubt_ she is the voice for millions of other Africans around the world who find it difficult to identify with their root and spirituality because of social stigmatization and religious nepotism.
Her sound brings about nostalgic feelings associated with legendary artist like Theresa Onuoha who she also sees as an inspiration yet it remains original and can easily be identified by the audience for her uniqueness.
