Candace Lee Camacho, known professionally as duendita, was born in Jamaica, Queens, New York, and is an American soul‑R&B singer‑songwriter. After studying at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and NYU’s Future Music Mogul program, she adopted the stage name duendita, inspired by the concept of duende ("elf" or "leprechaun" in Spanish). Her first single, "one of one," appeared in 2014, followed by "yikes!" in 2017, the lead to her debut album Direct Line to My Creator released on November 9 2018 as her NYU senior thesis. A mental‑health hiatus interrupted her career until an East River audiovisual performance in March 2024. Duendita then issued the EP The Mind is a Miracle (September 2024), the album A Strong Desire to Survive (April 4 2025), and Existential Thottie (April 29 2026).
