Rod Picott, born on November 3, 1964, in New Hampshire, is an American singer‑songwriter whose work blends Americana, alternative country, and folk. After growing up in South Berwick, Maine, and busking in Boulder, Colorado, he moved to Nashville in 1994, where he supported Alison Krauss and co‑wrote on Fred Eaglesmith’s 50 Odd Dollars. His debut album Tiger Tom Dixon’s Blues followed in 2001, featuring the co‑written track "Broke Down" with Slaid Cleaves. Subsequent releases include Stray Dogs (2002), Girl from Arkansas (2004), Travel Log (2005), Summerbirds (2007), Sew Your Heart with Wires (2008) with Amanda Shires, and Hang Your Hopes on a Crooked Nail (2014). He recorded and toured through 2023, adding Out Past the Wires (2017), Paper Hearts and Broken Arrows (2022), and Starlight Tour (2023).
