Dilettante are a UK-based art-rock collective led by multi-instrumentalist Francesca Pidgeon established in 2019. Hailing from Northern England, the project blend intricate loops, unconventional song structures, and a wide range of influences, including St. Vincent, Fiona Apple, tUnE-yArDs, and Radiohead. Originally a solo endeavour, Dilettante evolved into a fluid collective, embracing collaboration while maintaining Francesca Pidgeon's signature offbeat songwriting and rich, jazz-tinged vocals. Their sound is an eclectic fusion of art-rock, indie, and experimental pop, featuring playful rhythms, layered harmonies, and unexpected instrumental flourishes. Dilettante's first album Hatesongs arrived in 2019, followed by Tantrum in 2022. Natalie Pidgeon self-produced the group's third effort, Life of the Party, which was released in 2025.
