Belgian-Colombian singer Drea Dury is Billboard Latin's latest Latin sensation.
Growing up in Cali, her mother taught her traditional dance steps, while her father was an orchestra conductor. It was only natural, then, that Drea should develop a passion for music. In 2014, she flew to Brussels to study art and design at La Cambre school. In 2018, the Colombian artist made a notable appearance on The Voice France. Her stunning cover of Rihanna's "Rude Boy" caught the eye of the judges and garnered over 30 million viewers. Gaining further exposure thanks to her appearance on French television, she signed a debut album with the Trez Recordz label and collaborated with Will.i.am, Childsplay and Izi...
In 2023, Drea sets the scene for her 'Palmera Nights', accompanied by Squidji, Rad Cartier and El Grande Toto. This EP is conceived as a logical sequel to her 1st album "Atardece" (meaning "sunset"), where the sun gives way to night. The opus is an introduction to her nocturnal universe, and helped her to be spotted by Konbini and Vevo as one of the artists to watch in 2023. Played on Nova, Fun and Tarmac, and interviewed by Colombia's leading national media, she performed at the Accor Arena in Paris, opening for Ozuna, and landed a synchro role in the Venice Film Festival award-winning film "Blanquita".
On September 27, 2024, Drea will release the follow-up to her 'Palmera Nights' project. She is surrounded by talented producers such as Ponko (Damso, Tiakola, Hamza...), Seezy (Vald, SCH...), Chipeur (Lala &ce, Slimka...) and will unveil the universe of her "Palmera Nights" where she drops her Madonna veil towards a more animal metamorphosis. Drea is not afraid to mix her Afro beats, reggaeton and pop influences on this album.
