Glenn de Randamie, known professionally as Typhoon, was born on August 6, 1984, in 't Harde, Netherlands. Inspired by his brother Blaxtar, he began writing at the age of 12 and started his rap career with the group Rudeteenz at 15. The group included Blaxtar and members of the well-known Dutch hip-hop formation Opgezwolle. Typhoon's breakthrough came when he won Grote Prijs, the biggest hip-hop prize in the Netherlands, after which he signed with Top Notch Records. His debut album, Tussen Licht en Lucht, was released in 2007. In 2014, Typhoon released his second solo album, Lobi Da Basi, which received critical acclaim and made him a festival favorite. He also formed the group Fakkelbrigade with Dutch rappers Rico, Sticks, and ART. In 2020, he released the album.
