REIS DEMUTH WILTGEN is a Luxembourg-based jazz trio formed by pianist Michel Reis, bassist Marc Demuth and drummer Paul Wiltgen . Since their beginnings in 1998, the group has developed a distinctive voice defined by lyrical depth, rhythmic sophistication and a strong sense of narrative.
After reuniting in 2011, the trio quickly gained international recognition with their self-titled debut, followed by Places In Between (2016), recorded in New York. Their work has taken them to major jazz festivals across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa, establishing them as one of Luxembourg’s leading jazz exports.
Now signed to CAM JAZZ, the trio has continued to evolve its sound through releases such as Once In A Blue Moon (2018) and SLY. Their latest project, Freedom Trail (to be released on June 19, 2026), marks a new chapter: a collaboration with the Luxembourg Philharmonic featuring orchestral arrangements by Michel Reis and Vince Mendoza, with guest appearances by saxophonist Joshua Redman. Expanding their music to a symphonic scale while preserving the intimacy of the trio, the album highlights the group’s ongoing artistic evolution.
