Ved Buens Ende, a Norwegian avant-garde metal band, was formed in Oslo in 1994 by drummer Carl-Michael Eide. The group signed with Misanthropy Records and released their demo Those Who Caress the Pale in 1994. Their unique sound blended elements of jazz and black metal, characterized by Eide's distinctive vocals. In 1995, they released their album Written in Waters. The band disbanded in 1997 but reunited briefly in 2006 with a new lineup including Vicotnik on guitar and vocals, Petter "Plenum" Berntsen on bass, and Einar "Esso" Sjursø on drums. Despite plans for a new album, Ved Buens Ende disbanded again in 2007 without releasing any new material. The band resurfaced in 2019.
