Astrobrite, an American shoegaze project founded in 1993 by Scott Cortez, began as a solo endeavor before expanding into a full band to support touring. The group's early releases included the singles "Suckerpunch/Peach Fuzz" (1996) and "Overdriver/Slowpoke" (1996). Astrobrite went on hiatus in 1997 but returned with their debut album Crush in 2001, which was mastered by Adam Cooper. The band's subsequent releases included Super Crush (2002) and Pinkshinyultrablast (2004), the latter released under Vinyl Junkie Records. Notable collaborations featured members of Coaltar of the Deepers and Melt Banana, as well as Japanese singer Yukari Tanaka on Whitenoise Superstar (2007). Astrobrite continued to release albums including All the Stars Will Fall (2012) and Deluxer (2015). The band performed at the Julia War Fest in 2022.
