The Rebirth Brass Band, a brass band from New Orleans, was founded in 1983 by Phillip "Tuba Phil" Frazier, his brother Keith Frazier, Kermit Ruffins, and classmates from Joseph S. Clark Senior High School. The group's first album, Here To Stay!, was released by Arhoolie in 1984. Known for blending traditional New Orleans brass band music with funk, jazz, soul, and hip hop, the Rebirth Brass Band gained significant recognition over the years. In 2012, they won the Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album for Rebirth of New Orleans. The band's longstanding Tuesday night gig at the Maple Leaf Bar in Uptown New Orleans became a staple of the city's music scene.
