TRPP is a South Korean shoegaze band formed in 2021 by a trio using the pseudonyms Chi Chi Cliché, Furukawa Yukio, and Elephant 999. The group created a fictional backstory, claiming its members came from diverse backgrounds—a Chinese-French woman, a Japanese ramen shop owner, and a man of unknown nationality. This imaginative narrative adds a layer of mystery and intrigue to their music, which is rooted in the dreamy, atmospheric sounds of shoegaze. TRPP released their debut single "Pause" in May 2021, followed by their first studio album, TRPP, in July. The band quickly gained attention in the Korean indie music scene, contributing to the OST of the television series Inspector Koo. In 2022, they performed alongside the shoegaze band FOG on the show The EBS Space, showcasing their growing presence in the genre. In September 2022, TRPP released their second studio album, Here to Stay, which received critical acclaim. The album was praised for its experimental sound and was nominated for Best Modern Rock Album at the 2023 Korean Music Awards.
