Amedeo Tommasi, born on December 1, 1935, in Trieste, Italy, was a pianist and composer known for his work in jazz, electronic music, and film scores. He started as a trombonist in a jazz band in Bologna before transitioning to piano and gaining prominence in the early 1960s. Tommasi's breakthrough came with his appearance on the radio show La coppa di jazz in 1960, leading to performances at notable festivals such as the Sanremo Jazz Festival and winning first prize at the Bled Festival in Yugoslavia in 1961. In the early 1970s, he shifted his focus to film scoring, working on projects for directors like Pupi Avati and Dario Argento. He also released several electronic music albums under his own name and pseudonyms like Amedeo Forte and Di Jarrell. Tommasi passed away on April 13, 2021, in Rome.
