Bijou is a South Korean co-ed pop duo originally formed in 1998, centered around founding members Choi Dabi and Jumin. The group’s name is derived both from the combination of Da-bi and Ju-min and from the French word bijou, meaning “jewel.” Bijou debuted with the studio album Bijou Is Ballad and quickly gained recognition for their melodic pop sound. Over the years, the lineup evolved, with several members joining or replacing Dabi, including Yerim, Jeong Gahee, and Moon Yunjin, who became active in 2017. Following periods of lineup changes and a temporary hiatus, the group briefly rebranded as 2Letter before returning to the name Bijou in 2009. In 2017, Bijou released the digital single “Summer Night,” led by Jumin with a guest vocalist, marking a new phase of activity. The group underwent another transition in 2023, welcoming Haeon while Yunjin departed, and in December 2024 it was announced that Bijou would again collaborate with Park So-yeon, who had previously been active as a member in 2008. Despite numerous changes, Bijou has remained active across decades with releases such as "I still live there"(2024).
