Ren Kai Yin Moretta (殷人凯 Guayaquil, Ecuador, January 15, 1993) Is a singer, songwriter and actor. His father is Chinese and his mother Ecuadorian; He is fluent in three languages: Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and English. His name Ren is a Chinese character that means person and Kai means triumphant. Since childhood he had a passion for music which led him to learn how to play the guitar and piano.
Ren Kai always loved singing, at the age of 9 he represented Ecuador at an international arts festival in Shanghai, China. After that experience, his dream of wanting to embark on an artistic career was born. During his childhood he won several singing competitions in China, including the Shanghai City Student Art Contest. At the age of twelve he translated, from Mandarin to Spanish, a self-improvement book called “El Triunfador Soy Yo”. Three years later, while attending school in China, he organized a concert to raise money for the Wen Chuan earthquake.
Although Ren Kai graduated from International Business and Commercial Planning degree, and then worked in some business companies for 5 years, he never put aside his artistic dream and passion for music. His inspiration comes from great performers, singer-songwriters and groups like Luis Fonsi, Mana, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, among others. In 2019, he begins his solo career creating songs that mix Latin urban pop and characteristic sounds from Asia.
The release of his single "La Verdad" ranked him as the new musical promise of Ecuadorian Urban Pop. This single was created together with the renowned composers and producers Andy Clay and Andrés Saavedra and reached the top positions on the radio charts in Ecuador to establish itself as a national success. That same year a remix was made with the group Tres Dedos and the duo Rocko and Blasty.
2019 was a year of many joys for Ren Kai, being that thanks to his artistic growth, TC Televisión and Charts Ecuador awarded him as "Revelation Artist of the Year", also winning in the Best Music Video category thanks to his single "Mala Idea".
In 2020 his single "Parece Mentira" managed to be number one in the radio rankings of Ecuador. In addition, he participated as part of the main cast in the TC Television series "Antuca Me Enamora" with the character of Alessio. Despite all the difficulties caused by the global pandemic, thanks to the support of his fandom “Kainers”, Ren Kai won the Best Pop Artist, Best Male Artist and Best Video of the year awards with “Parece Mentira” awarded by Charts Ecuador.
