The Exploding Boy, a Swedish post-punk band from Stockholm, was formed in 2006 by Lars Andersson and Johan Sjöblom. The duo had previously played in different bands and shared a similar musical taste. They began making music together and eventually founded The Exploding Boy with three friends, naming the band after a song by The Cure. Their first performance took place in Stockholm in May 2006. In 2007, they released their self-titled debut album, quickly gaining international attention. By autumn 2009, The Exploding Boy had toured Germany and performed at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival. Their second album, Afterglow, was released that same year. The band's third album, The Black Album, was released in 2011 in the US via Vendetta Music and received positive reviews internationally. In October 2013, their fourth album, Four, was released under Drakkar Entertainment.
