Junkhouse, a Canadian rock band formed in 1989 in Hamilton, Ontario, consisted of Tom Wilson on vocals and guitar, Dan Achen on guitar, Russ Wilson on bass, and Ray Farrugia on drums. The band gained initial exposure opening for Crash Vegas and released their first demo album Here Lies Happiness in 1991. In 1993, Junkhouse signed with Sony Music and released their debut album Strays, which featured the hit singles "Out of My Head" and "Praying for the Rain". The band's second album, Birthday Boy (1995), included a duet with Sarah McLachlan on "Burned Out Car" and the lead single "Be Someone". Their final album, Fuzz (1997), produced the top 10 hits "Pearly White" and "Shine". After disbanding in 1998, Junkhouse performed occasional shows. Dan Achen died in 2010, followed by Russ Wilson in 2024.
