Dwiki Dharmawan, born on August 19, 1966, in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, is a pianist and composer. He began taking classical piano lessons at age six and later founded the band Krakatau with Pra Budi Dharma and Donny Suhendra during high school. The band's breakout single “Gemilang” (1987) sold over 800,000 copies. After Krakatau disbanded in 1990, Dharmawan released his self-titled debut album Dwiki Dharmawan (1991). His composition “Dengan Menyebut Nama Allah”, co-written with Ags. Arya Dipayana in 1990, received critical and commercial responses and was featured in the film Sesal. He won the Citra Award for Best Original Score for his work on Cinta dalam Sepotong Roti (1991). Dharmawan ventured into the international music scene with albums like World Peace Orchestra (2009), So Far So Close (2015), and Rumah Batu (2018). He has also received the AMI Award for Best Jazz Album.
