Growls in yer face before rippin’ it off. Grizzly formed on a new years eve party among some good friends in 2008 with a simple goal: to create honest, bitter, aggressive, loud, yet smooth and fuzzy sludge stoner music with a twisted approach.
The first EP called Fear My Wrath was was a great success among the audience and critics as well, and fortunately stabilized the band’s position in the Hungarian stoner/sludge scene. The performed as invited support for the almighty Kvelertak (NL) on A38, a world famous venue in Budapest. In 2014 came the second release, Rapturous Decay, recorded live at an Artist Colony with the lead of sound engineer Gábor Bánházi, who also worked with bands such as Apey & the Pea. In the following years Grizzly had the chance to share the stage with great and influential bands, such as Stoned Jesus (UA), Elder (USA), Black Tusk (USA), Cough (USA), Sasquatch (USA), 1000Mods (GR), Mos Generator (USA), Puta Volcano (GR), Red Fang (USA) and many others.
In 2018, the band started to record their most mature, raw and emotionally shocking material yet, in the form of Ursus Arctos, what had been released in late spring of 2019, then supported Dopethrone (CAN) and Nightstalker (GR) in Budapest.
