Rebecca Sleight, known professionally as Berri, is an English singer who was born in 1974 in York, England. Her career began with the single “The Sunshine After the Rain” (1994), which was originally credited to New Atlantic/U4EA featuring Berri. The track reached number 26 on the UK Singles Chart in December 1994 and, after a re-release in September 1995, peaked at number 4, becoming the 45th biggest-selling UK single of 1995 and earning a gold certification in Australia. The follow-up single “Shine Like a Star” (1995) reached number 20 on the UK Singles Chart in December 1995. Her studio album, About Time (1998), was released in Japan and was reissued digitally in June 2024. Throughout her career, she collaborated with other artists, performing as a featured vocalist on the Hectors House track “Come and Get My Lovin’” (1998) and contributing vocals to the Indigo track “Here Comes the Rain” (1998). She also performed on the track “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” (1999) by A Few Good Loops, recorded the dance track “Do U Believe” (2000) with Plasma, and provided vocals for “The Perfect Kiss” (2014) by Mono Life. She appeared at the Return to the 80s and 90s festival in Leicester in August 2017, and worked with Rick Lloyd of New Atlantic in 2022, before performing on the track “Snap!” (2024) from Bright Light Bright Light's album Enjoy Youth (2024).
