Hayden Frances Dunham, known professionally as Hyd (/hīd/), was born on June 16, 1988, in Austin, Texas, and is a performance artist, singer, songwriter, and DJ. Dunham began their music career under the pseudonym QT, a project founded in 2014 with English producer A.G. Cook and Scottish producer Sophie. The project released its debut single, "Hey QT", that same year. In 2020, Dunham transitioned to the moniker Hyd, releasing their first single, "No Shadow", in 2021. This was followed by a four-track EP, Hyd, in the same year. Hyd's debut album Clearing was released in 2022 via PC Music. Notable singles released in 2021 include "Skin 2 Skin", "The Look on Your Face", and a cover of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' "Into My Arms" (2022).
