Japanische Kampfhörspiele, a deathgrind band from Krefeld, Germany, was formed in 1998 by Christof Kather and Klaus Nicodem. The duo initially released 8-track recordings on their website and MP3.com. In 2001, they signed with Blutwurscht Productions and released their first compilation Japanische Kampfhörspiele. Notable releases include Fertigmensch (2003) and Hardcore aus der ersten Welt (2004), the latter featuring Miland Petrozza of Kreator on "Zieh die Jacke falschrum an". The band gained international recognition through tours with Nasum, God Dethroned, and Suffocation, and appearances at festivals like Neckbreaker and Maryland Deathfest. In 2009, they founded their own label unundeux and released Bilder Fressen Strom (2010) and Kaputte Nackte Affen (2011). The band disbanded in 2011 but reunited briefly 3 years later.
