Briskeby, a Norwegian electropop group formed in Larvik in 1999, comprised vocalist Lise Karlsnes from Tønsberg and musicians Bjørn Bergene, Claus Heiberg Larsen, and Bård Helgeland, all hailing from Larvik; the band’s name reflects the neighbourhood of their rehearsal space. Their breakthrough came with the single "Propaganda" in 2000, followed by the debut album Jeans for Onassis the same year, which sold 130,000 copies and earned four Spellemannprisen awards in the categories Best Pop Band, Artist of the Year, Newcomer, and Song for "Propaganda". In 2003 they released Tonight, Captain?, and in 2005 followed with Jumping On Cars under Universal Music, while touring as a supporting act for A‑ha in 2000. Subsequent singles included "Wide Awake" (2001) and "Miss You Like Crazy" (2005). After a hiatus, the band returned with a 2013 series of gigs and a 2015 single "Rookie Mistakes", maintaining a presence in the Norwegian electronic music scene.
