CURTAIN is a French coldwave band from Paris
Curtain is a French cold-wave band that released 2 LPs and 1 EP in the 2000s. Influenced by the Cure, the Chameleons or Joy Division, they are compared to post punk and gothic bands like Interpol, Little Nemo, Asylum Party or more recently Soft Kill. After a 15 year break, Curtain went back in 2021 for the 20th birthday of No Flowers by Request reissued in a Deluxe version by MusikÖeye label. The band s return is confirmed in 2022/23 with several gigs with Christian Death, Selofan or Kontravoid and new tracks released. Their newly released album, Between Us, which dropped on March 17, 2024, via Manic Depression Records, met with great success in France, Europe and America, with rave reviews (Obskure.com, Post-Punk.com, Sanctuary.cz among others), hundreds of airplays across French independent radio stations (including a special broadcast on Radio Libertaire) and abroad (Germany, USA, UK, Brazil, Poland,Benelux, Peru...) selections by curators for playlists or mixes (notably in England andthe USA) and even TV appearances (interviews and clips) on a regional Mexican channels.
Curtain unveiled their new album during a live performance at the Paris release party held at Cirque Electrique on April 6, 2024. They returned to the stage on May 25, 2024, for another unforgettable night at a packed Trabendo in Paris. The event was a memorable evening where Curtain shared the spotlight with the iconic bands Martin Dupont and Corpus Delicti, with whom they have built a strong bond of friendship and mutual respect.
As a result, Franck Amendola, the guitarist of Corpus Delicti, crafted an impressive remix of a Curtain song featured on the album Between Us: A Cold Life Remix,released in October 2024.
Curtain has been working on new material with the same Franck Amendola who operates a recording studio.
Several singles Unbelievable, Mother, Fire and L Instant Supendu will be followed by the new album Spiral released on 7 May 2026.
