Pater Moeskroen, a Dutch music band formed in 1985, originated from three founding members, Martien van Oostrom, Adje Grooten, and Wilbert van Duinhoven, who decided to start a band after touring France as street musicians. Their first gig took place on January 26, 1986, at Café van Zanten in Amersfoort. In 1989, Pater Moeskroen released their album Nooit Van Gehoord? (Wel 'ns Van Geroken Ja. Telt Dat Ook?), which included the hit single "Roodkapje". The band's music style blends folk, klezmer, Celtic, and punk influences, with lyrics ranging from humorous to serious themes. Their breakthrough came in 1991 when producer Peter Koelewijn signed them, leading to chart success with "Roodkapje" and subsequent singles like "Hela Hola (Tut Hola)". The band's live performances earned them the Gouden Notenkraker award in 1993. Notable albums include Wilde Liefde (1996), (On)gewenste Ultimiteiten (1998), Nu (2006), and De Reservebelgen (2019).
