B12, a British electronic music duo consisting of Mike Golding and Steve Rutter, emerged in the early 1990s. Initially releasing music under various monikers such as Musicology, Redcell, and Cmetric, B12's sound was closely associated with the ambient techno and IDM scenes of that era. Their album, Electro-Soma, was released in 1993 on Warp Records. The duo also founded B12 Records, an independent label known for its limited-edition colored vinyl releases. In 1996, they released their second full-length album Time Tourist, featuring artwork by The Designers Republic and a painting by Trevor Webb of a futuristic London. After a period of inactivity, B12 returned in 2005 with remastered back catalogues and live performances, culminating in the release of their third album, Last Days of Silence, in 2008.
