Astrid- is an alternative pop / trip hop musician, electronic harpist, singer/songwriter and music video producer/directress from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
In 2023 she formed her now group Astrid- & The Scandals. They have since released their first single "Dry Out" and are currently releasing their second single "Release me". In June 2024 they will be releasing their debut album "18:48".
Astrid- is a classically trained harpist and has mastered opera at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. She has been active on Slovenia music scene since 2019, when she released her debut single "Coconut", followed by "Sing to me" and "Črno pero". In 2020 she met her now producer and partner Tomaž Zupančič, a member of well known Slovenian group MRFY, and they have since released singles "Stanovanje", "Hey, Julie", "DEVOJKE" and their debut EP "Triptich", with three songs in three languages, talking about the afterlife, called "Kostarika", "Berlin" and "Seme". Astrid has produced and directed most of her music videos, she also designed scenography, costume and props. She has also produced music videos for other artists, such as "Mosquito bite" by Dora Tomori and "Ampak midva sva svobodna" by Bort Ross.
In 2023 she was invited to play the MENT festival and Waves Vienna festival. Her single "Kostarika" was one of the 5 super finalists of the Milan Mladenović prize. Astrid- was also chosen amongst 10 other artists as the artist of May by Europavox. She is currently one of the 9 finalists of the HEMI Music Hub Awards.
Astrid- & The Scandals are going on their first tour, called "18:48" in May, and will stop in many countries, such as Greece (Athens Music Week), Germany (Babylon Berlin & Carnival of Cultures Berlin and Jazz Club Tonne, Dresden), Poland (Wianki festival, Krakow), Czech Republic (Mladi Ladi Jazz, Prague and Jazz Tibet Club, Olomouc) and Slovenia (Ljubljana, Velenje, Maribor). The tour is promoting their debut album "18:48".
Astrid- is also active in an underground techno / spoken word project with Vitja Balžalorsky, a member of well known Slovenian group Laibach.
