Marina Mescheriakova, born Marina Iwanowna Mescheriakova on January 31, 1964, in Volgograd, is a Russian operatic soprano. She studied singing at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, as well as with Renata Scotto and Licia Albanese in New York. She made her debut at the Bolshoi Theatre and won several international competitions, performing at major opera houses in cities including Stockholm, Berlin, London, Paris, Milan, Vienna, San Francisco, and New York. Her engagements included the Vienna State Opera, where she performed thirty times between 1996 and 2002, and the Salzburg Festival. Her discography includes recordings of Giuseppe Verdi's operas Jérusalem, in which she sang the role of Hélène, and Alzira, featuring her in the title role. She also received the Belvedere Competition prize in Vienna in 1995 and won the Competizione dell'Opera in 1996.
