Fusing intense and brutal pop songwriting with gritty electronic rock, FEAR OF MARKO breaks down the boundaries, twisting them up and using them to build his own dark, unconventional take on pop music.
Emerging from Manchester (UK) and breaking onto the underground music scene in early 2022 with his infectiously experimental releases. FEAR OF MARKO (Marcus Anthony Connolly) first surfaced online in 2018, sharing early demos and mixtapes, leading him to develop a small cult like following. Making waves as a queer, working class artist of colour within the music industry FEAR OF MARKO soon became known for pushing forward his innovative and creative vision.
Heavily influenced by the feeling of nostalgia while pulling sonic influence from Grunge Rock, Electronic Rock and Hyperpop,
FEAR OF MARKO manages to curate a sound that feels both fresh and sentimental, not out of place in an early 00’s movie soundtrack. All of this results in FEAR OF MARKO’s dark yet playful take on modern pop and rock music.
