Martín García García is a pianist born in Gijón, Spain, in 1996.
Mixon First Prize Winner of the 2021 Cleveland International Piano Competition (CIPC), Martín García García burst onto the global stage for his “moving performance” (International Piano) with The Cleveland Orchestra. In this breakout year, he won Third Prize at the prestigious International Chopin Competition in Poland where he received the Warsaw Philharmonic Prize for best performance of a concerto.
Mr. García García has performed extensively throughout Europe and Japan, and is highly lauded by prominent musicians including Vladimir Krainev, Arcadi Volodos, Dimitri Bashkirov, Joaquín Achúcarro, and Tatiana Copeland (Sergei Rachmaninoff’s nephew), among others. Further, he was invited to participate in the International Ruhr Piano Festival in Germany, where he was sponsored by Mr. Radu Lupu.
A graduate of Reina Sofía School of Music in Spain, he studied with Professor Galina Eguiazarova since he was 14, where he also received the “Most Outstanding Student of the Chair” award, presented by Her Majesty The Queen of Spain. Starting lessons at age five, Natalia Mazoun and Ilya Goldfarb shaped his early musical beginnings in the Russian School of piano playing.
Martín currently lives in New York City, where he previously pursued a Master of Music in Piano at Mannes School of Music, The New School, under the guidance of Professor Jerome Rose.
