Peter Bursch, born on April 14, 1949 in Duisburg, Germany, is a guitarist and author. He emerged from the local Scout movement and the early influences of Elvis Presley and The Beatles. After touring Europe as a busker, he gained recognition with his 1975 bestseller Peter Bursch's Gitarrenbuch, which introduced a no‑notation approach to guitar learning. His subsequent titles, including Peter Bursch Heavy Metal Guitar (1988) and Rock Gitarre (1998), were published by Voggenreiter. Bursch collaborated with artists such as Ronnie Drew, Frank Zappa, and Steve Vai, and performed with bands like Bröselmaschine and All Star Band. In October 1997, he received an award for selling one million copies of his first book.
