Anchoring her velvet voice in black American music, Abyale (born Abyale Renée Madeleine Nan Nguema) never forgets her African roots. While she has collaborated with DJs Fred Rister and Joachim Garraud, topping the club charts on several occasions, the Franco-Gabonese singer enjoyed her biggest successes in the 1990s. " I Don't Talk About Love " and "I Wanna Be Your Love Too" became her most popular songs, the former even reaching number 28 in the Top 50. In 1995, two years after the release of her first opus Nightbuzz, she became a mother and decided to put her career on hold. Her second album, A Shade of Blue, didn't see the light of day until much later, in 2009, followed three years later by Soul Train and in 2014 by The Promise, an album in which the singer pays tribute to all her favorite styles, from soul and rhythm'n'blues to gospel and jazz, not forgetting Latin and African accents.
