Kaja Danczowska, born on March 25, 1949, in Krakow, Poland, is a violinist and teacher. She began her violin training at age seven with Jan Stasica and continued under Eugenia Umińska until 1972. Danczowska's early career included masterclasses with David Oistrach and Ruggiero Ricci. She won the First Prize at the National Violin Competition in Breslau in 1959. Danczowska has collaborated with prominent musicians including Krystian Zimerman, Heinz Holliger, Gidon Kremer, and Mischa Maisky. She has taught at the Krakow Music Academy since 1972, earning numerous state awards and honors, including the Gold Cross of Merit in 1986, the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2009, and the Academy of Music in Krakow awarded her an honorary doctorate in 2016.
