Joakim Sandgren, Swedish composer living in Paris. 2003 he wrote a Master at the University Paris VIII under Horacio Vaggione, 2000 he studied computer assisted composition at IRCAM, 1991-1998 he studied composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
Sandgren has composed computer assisted since 1997. 2003 he removed fundamental pitch from his compositions. Since 2008 he is working on a suite of fifteen pieces for instruments and electronics, "the cases of EJS", where he mixes heavily amplified instruments with their electroacoustic counterparts made from ASMR sounds.
Worked with ensembles like Itinéraire, 2e2m, Court circuit, Taller Sonoro, Soyoz 21, Archaeus, Champ d'Action, In Extremis, Tokyo Gen'On Project, Modern Music Ensemble, Curious Chamber Players, Norrbotten NEO, Ars Nova, Gageego!, Mimitabu, MA, Hand Werk, Morphosis, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Played in festivals as Darmstadt International Summer Courses, Warsaw Autumn, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, NYCEMF, ISCM, Les Musiques, Sound of Stockholm, GAS, Geiger.
