Conexión Latina, a jazz afro-cubain/salsa group, was formed in Germany in 1980 by trombonist Rudi Fuesers. The band featured musicians from various Latin American countries including Colombia, Cuba, Jamaica, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. Conexión Latina also collaborated with notable artists such as Benny Bailey, Dusko Goykovich, Larry Harlow, Nicky Marrero, Bobby Shew, and Bobby Stern. Their debut album Calorcito was released in 1984 under Enja Records, followed by albums such as Un Poco Loco (1986), La Conexión (1996), and Mambo Nights (2000). Conexión Latina also shared stages with artists such as Tito Puente, Irakere, and Eddie Palmieri.
