Visceral was an Argentine thrash metal band formed in 1998 by Antonio "El Tano" Romano on guitar, Carlos Kuadrado on bass, and Willy Caballero on drums and vocals. The group formed after the notable heavy metal band Malón separated in 1998 due to Claudio O'Connor's departure to start a solo career. The remaining members initially reunited with Caballero to revive their 1980s band, Cerbero, but changed the name to Visceral. Their debut album, Visceral, was released in 1998, followed by their second and final album, Arrancado del sistema, in 2001. With the formation of Visceral, they transitioned to a thrash and heavy metal sound and were recognized by fans as the project most similar to Malón out of the three that emerged after its separation. Visceral's period of activity lasted from 1998 to 2002, though Romano and Kuadrado left the band in 2001 to participate in a reunion of Malón.
