Paul Nathaniel Barman, known professionally as MC Paul Barman, was born on October 30, 1974, in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He is an American rapper and illustrator who emerged during the early 2000s. His debut EP, It's Very Stimulating, was released in 2000 on Wordsound Records. Barman’s first studio album, Paullelujah!, followed in 2002 on Coup d'État, produced by Prince Paul and MF DOOM. He released his second studio album, Thought Balloon Mushroom Cloud, in 2009 on Househusband. In 2018, he released (((Echo Chamber))) on Mello Music Group, featuring productions from MF Doom, Questlove, and Mark Ronson, as well as guest appearances from Open Mike Eagle and Masta Ace. Barman has also toured with Blackalicious and taught hip-hop classes at the Bank Street College of Education. His music is noted for its intricate rhyme schemes and humorous narrative style, often incorporating literary devices such as acrostics and palindromes.
