8 Bit Weapon, formed around 1998 in Ventura County, California, is an American chiptune music band founded by Seth Sternberger. The group initially gained traction by remixing Commodore 64 SID tunes and Nintendo NES game music, releasing their debut album Confidential 1.0 in 2003. Michelle Sternberger joined the band in October 2006, contributing to original compositions while also releasing music under the name ComputeHer. Notable releases include Official Bootleg: Live from Robotopia (2004), Vaporware Soundtracks (2005), and Reset Generation OST (2008). The band's work has been featured in various high-profile events, including performances at E3 from 2004 to 2006 and the Xbox’s exclusive Halo 2 E3 2004 preview event. They also contributed to exhibitions such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum's "The Art of Video Games" in March 2012. In July 2017, they released "Class Apples", the world's first 100% Apple II-based music album.
