Beathoavenz, a German hip-hop production duo consisting of DJs Smolface (Zafer Kurus) and Perez/Perry (Tomas Vojnović-Schmidt), began their career in Berlin in 1998. Their initial productions were used by groups like KMC and Harleckinz before the duo established their own music studio in Berlin-Wedding in 2003. Their breakthrough came with the remix of "Mein Block" from Sido's album Maske (2004), which led to collaborations with notable artists such as Bushido, Fler, Harris, Bintia, Dina Rae, Ying Yang Twins, and WWO. In 2006, they released their first mixtape, Der neue Standard, featuring prominent Berlin rappers including Sido, Fler, Harris, Frauenarzt, MC Bogy, Mr. Long, Alpa Gun, B-Tight, Megaloh, and Bass Sultan Hengzt. Beathoavenz also composed the soundtrack for the 2016 film Wir sind die Rosinskis, alongside Jasmin Shakeri.
