George King, known professionally as Catching Flies, is an English musician and DJ from London. Born in 1991, he began his music career with a remix of Mt. Wolf's "Life Size Ghosts" in October 2012, which reached Number 1 on Hype Machine. This breakthrough led to the release of his debut EP The Stars in the same year and his second EP The Long Journey Home in June 2013. In November 2016, he released a mini-EP featuring "Komorebi" and "Mama's Wisdom," with "Komorebi" reaching Number 1 on HypeMachine. His debut album Silver Linings was released on July 5, 2019, followed by Silver Linings Remixed in April 2020. In March 2021, he was nominated for a BAFTA for his soundtrack work on the Playstation game Sackboy. Catching Flies has performed at venues and festivals throughout the UK, Europe, and Asia, including tours with Bonobo and Submotion Orchestra.
