Arjan discovered his passion for music when he came into contact with a keyboard at the age of 8 in the toy library. The ability to play the keys fascinated him greatly, leading his parents to decide to offer him keyboard lessons. His interest in the keyboard quickly developed into the piano and later the organ.
At the age of 10, Arjan began accompanying church services, and soon became the accompanist for a children's choir. After about three years of keyboard lessons, Arjan harbored a desire to expand his knowledge of the piano. Therefore, during his first year in high school, he took piano lessons from his music teacher, enabling him to further develop his self-taught skills.
At the age of 13, Arjan recorded his first CD, which gained him national recognition for his independent venture at such a young age. He joined a school orchestra and became the lead pianist of the orchestra and choir project 'For Peace and Freedom'. During his free time on school days, he could often be found behind the Boston grand piano, designed by Steinway & Sons, one of the brands Arjan enjoys playing.
For many years, Arjan has contributed as a regular pianist to various (gospel) choirs. He is frequently involved in concerts both domestically and internationally, and over time has developed his own unique musical style. His ability to improvise on various music styles is considered characteristic.
