Kristin Andreassen, born in 1976 or 1977, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dancer who grew up in Hillsboro, Oregon. She began her professional career as a clogger with the Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble before joining the folk bands Uncle Earl and Sometymes Why in the early 2000s, contributing vocals, guitar, and dance. In 2007, Andreassen released her debut solo album, Kiss Me Hello, produced by Mark Schatz. The album includes the award-winning song "Crayola Doesn't Make a Color for Your Eyes", which won the Grand Prize in the Children's Category of the 2007 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Her second solo album, Gondolier (2015), was produced by Robin MacMillan and Lawson White and featured the single "Azalea". Throughout her career, Andreassen toured with Aoife O'Donovan, Dawn Landes, and Jefferson Hamer, performed at festivals including Bonnaroo and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and co-founded the all-ages Miles of Music Camp with Laura Cortese. With Uncle Earl, her work includes the album Waterloo, Tennessee (2007), which won the Folk Alliance Album of the Year in 2008.
