Alan Davey is an English musician best known as a bass player and composer. Davey formed the band Gunslinger in 1979 with Nigel Potter. Davey joined the rock band Hawkwind in 1984 after performing at the Stonehenge Free Festival. During a first tenure with the group, they released seven studio albums and four live offerings. Davey left in 1996 to form the hard-rock group Bedouin, which released the album Bedouin (1997). Davey rejoined Hawkwind in 2001 and performed with the band until 2007. Solo releases include Eclectic Devils (2009) and Cyber Tooth (2012). Davey formed the project Hawkestrel, which released albums including The Future Is Us (2019) and Chaos Rocks (2024).
