Sheebah Karungi is a Ugandan musician, dancer, actress, and activist. Born Samali Karungi in Kawempe, Kampala, Uganda, on 11 November 1989, she began her career as a dancer, joining the group Stingers at fifteen years of age before moving to the Obsessions Music Group in 2006, where she recorded two songs. After pursuing a solo career, her breakout came with the single "Automatic", followed by her debut five-track extended play, Ice Cream, in 2014, which featured the hit title track and "Jordan". She went on to release the studio albums Nkwatako in 2016, Karma in 2017, and Samali in 2020. Her single "Mummy Yo" was nominated for a fashion award in 2018, and she collaborated with artists including Ykee Benda, Fik Fameica, and Runtown. She won back-to-back HiPipo Music Awards for Best Female Artist from 2015 through 2024, won Artist of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and was appointed vice president of the Uganda National Musician Federation in 2024.
