Frenchy and the Punk, a Dark American alternative post-punk cabaret duo, was formed in New York City in 2005 by guitarist Scott Helland and singer Samantha Stephenson. They began their career under the name The Gypsy Nomads before adopting Frenchy and the Punk prior to their first European tour in 2011. Frenchy and the Punk released their debut album Thread & Stone in 2007 and were listed as one of the top 25 duos by a music blog in May 2012. Other notable releases include Bonjour Batfrog (2014) and Hooray Beret (2019). The duo also performed at Scotland's prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Fest in 2014 and toured extensively, including performances in England, Canada, the US, and West Africa.
