Lesson in Violence (formed in 2019, in Schweinfurt) is a German thrash metal group. Rebranded from the project Brain Damage, the ensemble was established by Florian Negwer, Roland Schäfer, Matthias Krapp, Florian Helbig, and Michael “Micky” Wehner. The band name refers to the Exodus song "A Lesson in Violence" from the album Bonded by Blood. Following the departure of Wehner, André Loesch joined the group. In 2020, the ensemble established the concert series Lessons in Metal. After signing with Iron Shield Records in 2021, the band released its debut album, The Thrashfall of Mankind (2022), which received a ten-point rating from Legacy magazine. The group performed at festivals including the Metal Franconia Festival and Infernum Meets Porkcore Fistevil. Lineup changes in 2022 included the arrival of guitarist Michael Helbig and drummer Gareth Lathan. The ensemble released its second studio album, No Need for Death, in 2024.
