rumahsakit, founded in Jakarta in 1994, is a band recognised as one of the pioneer in Jakarta’s indie movement during the 90’s. They are well known for their sing-a-long dreampop anthems such as “Hilang”, “Pop Kinetik”, “Kuning”, as well as more distortion-fuelled tracks like Mati Suri and Psychic Girl and also their more recent releases like “Bernyanyi Menunggu” and “Sirna”. They announced their separation in 2004 but then formally reunited again in 2012 after few successful reunion gigs.
rumahsakit has released 3 albums, “rumahsakit” in 1998, “nol derajat” in 2000 and the come back album “1+2” in 2012. In 2013 their lead singer resigned from the band and the band recently introduced their new vocalist Arief Muhammad along with a new single “3:56”, taken from their upcoming album to be released around April 2015. rumahsakit are: Arief Muhammad (Lead Vocal, Guitar), Mark Ricardo Najoan (Guitar, Vocal), Shendy Adam (Bass, Vocal), McDonald J.
