La Tifa is a singer and composer, representative of the Reggae genre in Medellín, Colombia. From a very early age, she showed her passion for music. At the age of twelve, she started to sing in her high school, where she participated in several music contests standing out for her versatile voice and her melodious explosive interpretation. Her music shares messages of togetherness, spirituality, respect, tolerance, and love representing the woman of society through art. In 2008 she decided to make part of the reggae group “Unity Love”, where she discovered her love for the reggae culture. In 2013 the group released its first album called “Jah Jah Souljahs”.
In 2014 she set out on her solo career and released her first album called “IRIE” with the aim to influence people and share a positive message, principles, and values to society. Thanks to the crowd acceptance, she’s been able to travel and perform in the main concerts all over the country (Bogotá, Cali, Barranquilla, Pereira, Ibagué). She’s had the privilege to partake in several important events of Medellin city, becoming the lead-in band for the legendary band Steel Pulse show. La Tifa has also performed in massive events like Festival Internacional Altavoz, Jamming Festival, Stereo Picnic, and Groove festival, contributing to her artistic growth and an interactive inclusive staging.
Her first international shows were carried out in the United States (Austin TX, New Orleans LA, Miami FL), later México (CDMX, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí). She’s shared stage with artists such as Kase O, Providencia, De Bruces a Mi, Boca Floja, Jah Nattoh, and Green Valley. Her music has the aim to create something unique which reaches all kinds of audiences influenced by Soul and Gospel music, proposing an authentic style, creating a musical fruit representative of our country, leaving a reflection subject to social consciousness, life joy, and unity.
From 2015 she started the creation of her second album which is nourished by personal experiences in life. In 2017 she released the “PUEBLO” album which international artists like Tiano Bless from Chile and Conkarah from Jamaica participate in. This album was produced by Colombian Riddim and Sampling Studios. For 2018 she’s developing new projects and concerts, where the work done in her last production, is outstanding. This coming summer she’ll be performing in the NOLA CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL in New Orleans, and supporting De Bruces a Mi in the release of its new album “Rio A Mar” in Medellín.
