Caroline Davis, born Caroline Rebecca Anson on July 7, 1981 in Singapore, is an American saxophonist, flautist, composer, and educator. Her musical journey began in Atlanta, Georgia, where she played saxophone at Sequoyah Middle School. After academic studies at the University of Texas at Arlington and a Ph.D. in Music Cognition from Northwestern University, she entered the professional scene in 2013 in Brooklyn, New York, releasing the album Today, Two Days From Now, Or Yesterday in 2011 and subsequently Heart Tonic (2018), Alula (2019), and Portals, Volume 1 : Mourning (2021). Her work includes collaborations with Lee Konitz on Old Songs New (2019) and touring with the New York jazz circuit. In 2018, she was named a Rising Star on DownBeat magazine's Critics' Poll for Alto-Saxophone, and in 2019 she served as composer‑in‑residence at the MacDowell Colony.
