Amalyn is an undergraduate at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Singapore (YSTCM), majoring in the Audio arts and Sciences with a second major in Communications and New Media. She is under the tutelage of Assoc Prof Zhou Xiaodong, Head of Audio Arts & Sciences (AAS) and founding Recording Studio Manager of YSTCM.
She undertook a two-month internship with msm-productions, an affiliate of MSM Studios Munich, as a recording assistant at Rose Studio. Projects that she was involved in include an opera recording production of Richard Wagner’s Valkyrie performed by the Orchestra of Music Makers, as recording assistant for a concert recording of Resound Collective at Victoria Concert Hall and Wild Rice Theatre as well as for a concert recording of Singapore Symphony Orchestra at Esplanade Concert Hall. In lieu of the 2020 pandemic, she has also assisted in live-streamed and prerecorded concerts, such as Mozart's Idomeneo with The Opera People. She now works for the company as a freelance recording assistant. Amalyn is also involved in the livestreams of YST's Noon Recitals. She is trained as a score reader, camera, sound and livestream operator.
As a producer, Amalyn has gained a monthly following of 3,000 listeners on her Spotify artist page, where she releases a mixture of ambient/chill music and self-produced pop songs. Her latest album, "I'm Not Lazy, I Just Don't Care", has garnered a total of 2,800 streams as of February 2021. Her latest collaboration single "Starbucks", gained over a thousand streams within a week of release. Occasionally, she also experiments with genres such as Acapella, Dubstep and Future Bass. In her free time, she uploads covers onto her youtube channel.
Amalyn has performed live for charity events and competitions. Her most memorable experience is when she won the 2019 Singapore Youth Festival Songwriting Competition in the Singer-Songwriter category. She performed her self-written song at the Esplanade as the finale item for the SYF 2019 concert, with Second Minister for National Development of Singapore Indranee Rajah as the Guest Of Honour.
